Future of Transportation TRAM 34
Developed for Metro Istanbul A.Ş., the TRAM34 light rail vehicle embodies Istanbul’s modern and dynamic identity while redefining the future of urban mobility. With its fluid and powerful lines, combined with a minimalist linear exterior, it reflects a universal design philosophy that seamlessly integrates with the city’s aesthetic. Additionally, the black frame, composed of glass and acrylic, outlines the window and door structure, defining the interior space and emphasizing its human-centered design. Moreover, a sleek light band surrounds this frame, running along the entire vehicle and transforming into warning colors at door entrances to guide passengers. As a result, this innovative lighting language gives TRAM34 a contemporary and distinctive character while creating a refined visual identity that harmonizes with the city’s landscape.
A collaboration between Arman Design’s creative team and Metro Istanbul A.Ş.’s engineering expertise, this project represents the strength of modern urban transportation engineering tailored for large metropolitan areas like Istanbul. With its seamless engineering solutions, TRAM34 combines both tram and light metro functions, thereby ensuring maximum flexibility in city transportation. Furthermore, its ability to climb slopes of up to 6% makes it perfectly suited for Istanbul’s challenging topography. Beyond that, more than just a mode of transport, TRAM34 is a next-generation mobility solution—effortlessly blending universal aesthetics with advanced technology, designed to move in harmony with the rhythm of the city.
